Pain in the shoulder can originate from the shoulder joint or from the muscles, tendons, and ligaments surrounding it. Discomfort stemming from the joint tends to escalate when the shoulder or arm is in motion such as brushing your teeth or lifting objects overhead.

 

There are several causes of shoulder pain such as rotator cuff injuries, bursitis, dislocation, adhesive capsulitis, overuse of the shoulder joint with poor biomechanics, arthritis, and poor shoulder posture.
